FAQs

Q What are the costs to live at 'St Louis on Blyth'?

The cost of moving into our retirement village in Parkside Adelaide, is similar to purchasing any other home.

The key differences are:

  • There is no Stamp Duty or GST payable on the sale.
  • Your retirement village purchase will be subject to a Resident Licence Agreement.
  • We recommend you talk to a lawyer and family members, so you understand the terms of purchasing under such an agreement.
  • You need to pay for your telephone and internet usage, as well as an insurance premium to insure the contents of your home.
  • Council rates, power, water, fortnightly gardening and minor maintenance are covered by the retirement unit Maintenance Fee which varies for each unit. Please call for more details.

Q Is there a waiting list?

At times there can be a short waiting list for our prestige retirement properties, and you can add your name at any time. When a property becomes available, we will contact you by telephone. We endeavour to have the purchase of your home at St Louis on Blyth coincide with the settlement of the sale of your current home.

Q Can I bring my pet?

Yes. Any four-legged or two-winged family members are welcome to come with you to your new home. There are some obvious guidelines around having pets in a retirement village that you'll need to adhere to for the safety and comfort of your neighbours. Requests to bring a pet should be submitted in writing ahead of your move-in date.

Q Are family members permitted to stay overnight or for holidays?

Yes. All friends and family are welcome. As a matter of courtesy, we ask that you notify the retirement village management if a guest is coming to stay more than one night. Please refer to the License Agreement for details.

Q Can I bequeath my home?

In the event of your passing, your St Louis on Blyth retirement village home must be returned to management for resale in accordance with the terms and conditions of your license agreement. The proceeds of the sale then form part of your estate.
