Are you noticing your parent becoming more reluctant to venture out?
Is your elderly relative too tired to maintain the garden?
Have you noticed that your parent’s home is not as tidy as it used to be?
Are you concerned your elderly loved one may not be eating regular meals?
Your parent or elderly relative may just need a little extra help at home so that they stay healthy and engaged in the activities they have always enjoyed. In getting some extra help, they will be able to remain in the comfort of their own home as the years go by, comfortably and safely, knowing that help is only a phone call away.
Here are some of the services included in our home care:
- Grocery shopping, preparing meals together and cooking
- Transport to and from social activities and appointments
- Helping them to maintain their home and the garden
- Supporting them to stay socially active enjoying the things that keep them well
They get to choose as much or as little help as they want, and as advocates of consumer directed care, we work with our clients to use their home care package to best support their lifestyle needs.
We may start with some light support such as transport and grocery shopping and as they get older, we may need to become more involved. By this time we will have developed a relationship with them, will understand their needs and preferences, and be able to support them well as they age.
A home care package takes up to 12 months to commence from the date it is approved
It’s best to start making plans for a home care package today so it is there where you need it. Otherwise you may need to pay private home care fees to support you while you wait for your home care package to be approved, which can get expensive.
We are here to help guide you through the process of applying for a home care package with My Aged Care.
Government funded home care services – Home Care Packages
St Louis is an approved My Aged Care provider for Level 1-4 home care packages in South Australia. Government funded home care packages require you to complete an ACAT Assessment first. Under a home care package, all your home care fees may be covered or you may need to pay an income tested fee depending on your financial circumstances.
Privately funded home care services – St Louis Lifestyles Program
Not eligible for federally-funded home care services or prefer private home care services? You can still access St Louis home care services as a privately-funded client through our St Louis Lifestyles Programme.
St Louis Lifestyles is a fee-for-service care programme where home care services can be arranged as needed, which means no ongoing costs for you.
You don't need an ACAT Assessment to access St Louis Lifestyles and there is no eligibility criteria. There are also no waiting lists, so we can start delivering the home care services you need as soon as you need them.
