Help at home for elderly relatives

Has you parent or loved one recently decided not to have a drivers licence or drive their car and needs some support to do the shopping and get to appointments?

Getting some additional support to remain living at home safely may be a difficult conversation or process to start but if you know their expectations, choices or needs to maintain their independence and safety at home you can maintain their dignity to live and age well just as they want to. Home Care providers like St Louis Home Care work with our clients to deliver consumer directed care, with choice, independence and safety, their services and support are coordinated to meet their lifestyle and individual needs.

Getting the right Home Care support depends on what our clients’ needs and choices are, here are some of the support services we offer:

  • Housekeeping – cleaning, laundry, and other chores to keep you safe.
  • Assistance with Shopping, transport to the shops, and meal preparation
  • Personal Care – showering, dressing, assistance getting ready, grooming, and hair
  • Home nursing support to monitor health conditions at home.
  • Support with impairments or continence.
  • Social support and transport assistance
  • Overnight care
  • Hospital-to-home care

Getting support through a Government funded home care package may take up to 6 months from when you start the process with my aged care.

You can choose to have Government Funded Home care or Private Home Care services.

If you are planning for government-funded home care, Home Care Packages, contact my aged care to organise an assessment with the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). This will check your eligibility and the amount of access you are able to access for your needs . Some find this daunting or overwhelming and chose to contact a home care provider like St Louis Home Care to help navigate the process. St Louis Home Care, provides coordinated, consumer-directed care, which means your support and services are directed by you, to meet your needs and choices with your safety a priority.

Private Home Care Support – Welcome Care

If you are not eligible for Government funded home care services or don’t want to go through the process of getting a home care package or prefer to pay for your home care services? You can still access St Louis home care services through our Private Home Care Support. This is a fee-for-service where home care services can be arranged as needed, and you chose as little or as much care and services as you would like, there is no eligibility and you do not need to access my aged care or have an aged care assessment team (ACAT). You can start receiving care and support immediately or as you need it.
